Get the template
One row per month: revenue, budget and 14 cost lines. It comes filled in with the sample months so you can see the layout.
-
Fill in your numbers
Replace the sample rows with your own monthly totals from QuickBooks, Xero or your own spreadsheet. For costs you can also add photos of supplier invoices and receipts, once you're logged in.
How to get your numbers
QuickBooks Online
- Go to Reports and open Profit and Loss.
- Pick the months you want and set Display columns by to Months.
- Copy each month's income and cost totals into the matching template columns.
Xero
- Open Reports, then Profit and Loss.
- Choose your date range and compare by month.
- Copy each month's totals into the template.
Your own spreadsheet
- Put one month per row, using the template's column names.
- Column order doesn't matter, and common names like Wages or Advertising are recognised.
Budget is the most you planned to spend that month, not a sales target. Leave it blank if you don't set one. A cost that has no column of its own? Add it to the closest one; what each cost group means.
